Podcasting is one of the primary ways I engage in public awareness and media production. I created "Red Pens & Red Flags," an education-focused podcast where I interview professionals across the public school system to unpack what’s really happening in classrooms, leadership, and policy. I also co-host "Break It Down with Rick and Tim" alongside a fellow teacher, where we dive into hot topics, media manipulation, and our hostile political climate that educators are navigating in real time. I don’t just sit behind a microphone and look pretty; I run the operation. I manage filming, lighting, graphics, audio engineering, video editing, and social media distribution. From concept to final upload, I oversee the entire production pipeline, ensuring every episode is sharp, thoughtful, and built to reach an audience that cares and that needs to hear what is happening from a trauma-informed educator.
